Since joining the club a few years ago, Shanaye has become a key member of the women's squad, while also representing North West Lightning. Shanaye always approaches her hockey in an enjoyable manner and her teamates always enjoy playing alongside her.
Thanks for the interview Shanaye and we hope you get to celebrate your birthday properly soon.

This weeks player profile is A grade player and on and off field leader, George Miller. George was an one of our early recruits when the junior competition started to kick off in 2004, and has been one of our most successful. Best of luck for your final season before you move up north George, I'm sure you'll be supported by the rest of the squad.
Player Profile - Xanthe Thorpe
This week is the Junior State Championships, so its a great chance to look at one of the many Strath players representing North West Country Lightning. Xanthe is playing with Under 13 Lightning Girls this year, where we know she will play some great hockey.
Having made her senior debut this year, Xanthe has become a key player to the B grade women, as well as starring in the Under 14 teams. It's been great seeing Xanthe's hockey development over the years, beginning as a member of a Hooked In2 Hockey program we ran a few years ago.
Best of luck to Xanthe for the rest of the year, as well as at the Junior State Championships, with all our other Junior Legends.
Player Profile - Under 9's
This week player profiles some of our future champions with the clubs Under 9 team. Coached by Brett Thompson and Aaron Foy each Saturday morning, the kids are enjoying the beginning of their hockey careers.
It's great to see the kids embrace the values of Strath and enjoying their hockey.
Thanks to the kids who we interviewed, and to Thommo and Az for helping coach the kids. Best of luck for the rest of the year.
Player Profile - Ross Brown
This week's player profile features a legend on and off field for Strath, Ross Brown. Joining the club at 14, Browny has won multiple premierships for the club, and scored even more goals, often knocking them in from nowhere. Recently Browny has represented Victoria at the national masters.
Over the past 42 years, we have had lots of people play at our club, contributing to where the club is today.
Thanks Browny for being featured and for representing all our past players and members.
Player Profile - Glynn Chambers
Player Profile - Charlotte Foote
This weeks player profile features a new player to the mens squad, Glynn Chambers. Recently returning to Australia from the US, Glynn has become a great asset to the Tigers Men side. As part of the teams leadership group, Glynn shows great composure on the field and his work off the ball is great to watch. We have been fortunate to have someone with the intergrity and leadership join the club this year, as Glynn has contributed strongly to the culture of the club in only a few short months.
Thanks for your profile Glynn and good luck with the rest of the season.
This weeks profiles features one of our new players for this year, Charlotte. Charlotte has moved to Bendigo this year from Mount Gambier to study dentistry and we have been lucky enough to have her join Strath. A former South Australian representative, she has already shown her skills on the field, and has been a really great help developing our junior players on the turf. Thanks for your time Charlotte, best of luck for the rest of the season.
Player Profile - Ruby Hinck
This weeks player profile features one of our leading goal scorers, Ruby Hinck. Ruby has started the year off in sensational form, coming off a hat trick and an A grade debut, where she also knocked in a goal. Playing in our junior teams for the last few years, its great to see Ruby stepping up and becoming an important player in our senior teams, always bringing a positive attitude to the field.
Best of luck for the rest of the year Ruby, can't wait to see what you achieve.
Player Profile - Imogen Coffey and Harry Torney
This week's player profile is a double header. As a club that has a strong family culture, we often have families who have players from across the generations. Both Immy and Harry have grown up at the club, watching their parents play, and are now both playing senior hockey. Immy has made her mark this year in the B Women's team, scoring goals and improving weekly, while Harry has well and truly made his mark in the Tigers men team over the past few years.
There are many other families currently and over the years who have multiple people playing, which is always a fantastic sight.
Thanks to Chelsea Bales for helping me interview Imogen and Harry.
Player Profile - Jason McClure
This week we meet Jason, a recent returnee to the hockey field, playing with the Roar team on weekends and the new Masters team Wednesday nights. Jason is a former Bendigo rep player from the 90's, who moved back to Bendigo with his family a few years ago.
We are lucky to have Jason at the club, thanks Jason
